Great people, great community
What’s here:
- Natural cheese, process cheese, distribution centers
- Part of Schreiber since 1950
Carthage is home to two manufacturing facilities (Claxton and Fairview Avenue) and three distribution centers.
There’s a lot of history in this community. The first battle of the Civil War was fought here. That famous old road, Route 66, cuts right through town. And it’s home to one of the few surviving drive-in theaters in the country.
In Carthage, folks like to eat barbeque. But there’s a wide variety of quality restaurants in town, as well as in the nearby cities of Joplin and Springfield. It’s also less than an hour’s drive to great entertainment venues — from theme parks to casinos.
